Re: Restoration thread 1969 St Albans charger

Sterling work as ever! These old cars can drive you nuts at times and it doesn’t always feel like the fun it should be…

Thank you mate. Indeed I make you right but such a kick when it goes well. I was expecting a snag list to be fair. I knew I’d never get in and plain sail away. Especially with ...

Re: Restoration thread 1969 St Albans charger

That car could not have gone to a better home.
You saved it and are using it 👍 and have done a bang up job.

Glad you decided to keep it as after all that work I'm sure you would have regretted selling even if felt like the right thing to do at the time.

Thank you for your kind words ...

Re: Restoration thread 1969 St Albans charger

Great update. I love seeing “built in a driveway” stuff. Bet your other half is chuffed to bits with the interior all over the house. :D

Good to hear you are enjoying using it, that’s the important bit. :thumbright:

Keep the updates coming, the board is very quiet these days, it’s great to see ...

Re: Restoration thread 1969 St Albans charger

Hello Mopar family.

Wow my last post on this thread was one year and five days ago!

Decided to post for reading material for you as the weather has been pretty useless for us car enthusiasts (classics in particular as let’s be honest, you only cover it so you don’t get your feet wet next time you ...

Re: Restoration thread 1969 St Albans charger

It's a credit to you mate, a lot would have thrown in the towel a long time ago, so you're not going with a vinyl roof then.

You know mate I love a vinyl roof and that was the initial intention but as the build’s progressed Iv slowly moved away from it and think this particular car will be ...

Re: Restoration thread 1969 St Albans charger

Wowza! Last update was in July. That means two things… I’m getting old fast, and chargers progressing slowly!

So things have been crazy busy. I sent myself on a fast track engine course, and even ended up working in an aircraft hanger doing all kinds of engineering tasks. Carrying out 75 hour, 150 ...

Re: Restoration thread 1969 St Albans charger

Here is a bunch of pics (a collage, if you will 😂) that depict things that have been done but not mentioned here, moments in time and just a quick browse through my iPad pics that I thought would be fun to show. There is so much work that goes into this that honestly it’s not possible to mention ...

Re: Restoration thread 1969 St Albans charger

Next up, I felt the need to do some upgrading on the deck filler panel. The AMD version seems to be more “rounded” along the edge when compared to the original. This always bugged me. When many of you guys see me at car shows staring for hours at your cars and wondering what the crazy lunatic has ...

Re: Restoration thread 1969 St Albans charger

No on to a few panel issues…

So on an factory “original” charger, the valance corners are (mostly) ice and tight to the rear valance, however I often see on cars that have had panels replaced, this gap seems to be bigger. I wanted to get these valances as tight as originals so a little cutting and ...
