Here is someones attempt to re-create the decal in vinyl. Not a bad effort at all.

Good pics Dave. I have to say, the moniker 'Western Sports Special' conjures up all sorts of dandy images of a mean machine with a unique look to it (be that through badging, decals or options in a T/A sort of way).
Unfortunately (and I know I'll get slagged for this) its a boring looking car.

How can anything painted Sublime and fitted with a big block be boring?
Did I mention there were only
381 built with the 383 engine out of less than a total of 1500 WSSs made?

I know it sounds weird, but I am going to open a BIG can of worms now by asking 'would you class that as a 'muscle' car? That depends heaviliy on whether all a car needs is a big block to be a muscle car, or whether iths the whole package that defines it. RR's and SB's are deffo muscle cars, as are 340 equipped T/A's, AAR's etc. but that WSS just doesnt shoult muscle at all. White Wall tires is a BIG nail in the coffin.

Plenty of 1970-74 Mustangs came with white wall tyres. And smaller V8s than this. You saying the Mustang is not a muscle car?

Stopped at the bottle shop tonight and a 396ss Camaro pulled up behind wearing thin lined whitewalls. Cool and the gang! (but not original....And a redline would look better!)

Your car is a different animal altogether Dave I reckon. Your motor is a muscle car. Its spec is a dead giveaway.
