I received a phone call last week from the company that produces Four Rooms for Channel 4. They asked me if I'd be prepared to go on the programme with the Streamliner? Naturally I said yes.

For anyone who's not familiar with the programme here's a linky:

Just for the hell of it I sent them the images of the statues as well. Yep, they want to feature them as too!

Nothing is guaranteed as the next stage if for them to present all of the items they think will be of interest to the C4 Execs next week.

I'll be absolutely gobsmacked if they go with the Streamliner or Statues simply because they haven't got the same kind of kudos as Picasso's fingerprint or Hitler's Luger for instance.

Whatever, cool to get the call and let's see.

Sorry Jem may have been asked before, but where do you find most of this stuff????

Just scouring Ebay etc or have you got contacts.

More quality work! :thumbright:

Just need some 60 year old fuel pumps and you've got a great collection! 8-)

In answer to your question Dave it's 95% Ebay.

I have literally hundreds of 'saved searches' going on at any one time.

The secret/ability/artistic eye is to see potential in what other people perceive as 'junk'.

Here's what it looked like on the listing when I bought it.

Interesting stuff Jem,

Puts it into perspective to see the dispenser prior to your handy work..........

What made you decide to step away from its original brand/use and change it to confectionry...........Market forces??

Good question Dave and one I pondered over for some time.

It crossed my mind that it would be more attractive to potential customers as a 'confectionery' machine rather than a 'cigarette' machine.

Smoking equals 'Yuck' to most people these days but I can't remember hearing of anyone who had a problem with a bit of chocky. All except Ivor of course who I understand is now on a diet because everyone thinks he's a bit of a Fatster!
