I don't want to do the show 'n' shine thing anymore

After careful consideration I don't want to get into drag racing again simply because it's a never-ending money pit in the pursuit of trying to go faster. Big respect to those of you who do it, or can afford it, but I simply haven't got the finances to get involved in that anymore either

What I do want however is a heavily patinated car for the reasons I've mentioned earlier! I'm not a 'Mopar or no car type' and there have always been a few makes/models that have really appealed to me - the Bonneville being one of them.

So when I spotted this one it seemed just too good to be true. A '68 Bonneville and more importantly to me, heavily patinated. Not only that but it's here in the UK - not in the States!

Ok, let me put this another way: If the same car was for sale in New York (where it came from), how much do you honestly think it would cost to buy, get shipped over here, registered and ready to pick up with a years MOT?

Patina cars have deffo got a live history to them and make great conversation pieces if nothing else!

Jem....I'm with you on this mate. I'm a C body guy and I recently missed a really nice 4 door pillarless 73 just by being too carefull. One thing I would say mate is that that car was bought for a lot less than he is asking and that would include the shipping....the one I missed was totally rust free, all original, perfect interior and just needed a brake servo...went for under $3k. Add shipping and yours, landed in the Uk for under$6k or around £4k. There are lots over there Jem and nicer than this to be honest mate....have a look on cbodydrydock and forcbodiesonly and you will be amazed. Some great cars , patina and all for low bucks....unless you want a 300H or ragtop...

I love the rear lights on the Pontiac. And the body lines. It is like a modern lead sled.
But the Chrysler for less money is a better car overall.

You could always do your fake rust thing with it. Then it would look as rough as you like without any underlying real rust issues.

Have a look at this Jem....just an example of a running patinad car that would be great fun to cruise around in. I know its like a swear word to a lot of members but its not bank breaking money and you have a lot of very good contacts and skill to get her sorted and reliable. There are tons of examples and if you dont mind more doors then you will be havin great fun! Nicer examples around $3k....2 doors fair bit more as you know but youve been there and done that Jem. Much as I loved your dreamy charger and gorgeous race car, I also love ghe big C s and the bargain fun you can have in them....go on, you know you want to!
