I went to look at the car yesterday and it was even better than I could have hoped for :thumbright:

I spent a good hour looking over it and couldn't find a single piece of rot anywhere! Most surpising of all were the panels - laser straight with not a dent to be found. The whole car is rock solid throughout.

The patina is stunning! What's left of the paint is all original - the remainder is pure sunbleached heaven. I couldn't find any signs of bondo either.

The only thing that needs adressing are the carpets which have almost disintergrated.

My personal opinion is that it's one of the coolest looking cars I've ever seen!! I may well have paid a little over the odds for it but I'm over the moon with what I've bought. For me, the price pales into insignificance
relative to the fun and enjoyment I know I'm going to have with it!

Rock on!!

looks the buisness and you can use it to tow yer barge

Fantastic Jem. I love the look of that & understand where your coming from. I would love a stacked headlight convertible motor myself. I would chop the Charger in if one came my way that took my fancy. Good on you :thumbright:

Paid a deposit. Car needs to be MOT'd by the seller so hopefully in a few days time I'll have it. He's even delivering it for me................which is nice.

Did you go all the way to Durham to see it Jem? Blimey you're keen

Re the carpet - just buy a new one from Summit or Legendary (etc) and leave it out in the sun for a few hours - it's soon look like it's 30 years old

Oh, and nice choice by the way. Look forward to seeing you work your magic on it :thumbright:

So the plan Jem is to drive as is? No tuning and no painting, there must be a little something planned for it?

That's it really Carl. The body doesn't need touching at all apart from a liberal dose of Gibbs.

However, I think it would be rude not try and get some more power out of the motor :thumbright: Possibly a better intake and carb? Dunno, I'll have to ask Blue - that's if he's willing to touch a Pontiac mind you :)

And maybe the rims.
