Guy Martin's Spitfire

Post by Pete »

Best programme I have seen for ages.

Handled very informatively and sympathetically.

Especially the bit when the see off a 5 Series BMW with a good old .50" BMG!!!

Quality 8-)

Just watched it on +1, best bit of TV I've seen for ages.

Recorded it and still got it to watch. Anything with Guy Martin is a must-see for me!
In a similar vien, I thought 'Britain's Greatest Pilot' that was repeated last week (first shown in June) was the best I'd seen for ages :salute:

A superb programme and most of it was built 10 miles from me and I never knew it....

However, as I kept pointing out to Julie (much to her annoyance..) that it is really Trigger's Broom. It is a total recreation of the original scratch built, just with the serial number from the 1940 plane.

Just another "Clone".....but what a clone....beautiful.......

Yep, it was a good programme, and the Spit was stunning.
It would be fantastic if a similar effort could be put into restoring a Mossie over here and having it return to our skies. That really would be something to see! New Zealand and Canada have managed it over recent years. :thumbright:
Sorry for the hijack Pete!

otherwise we’d all be speaking sprechen Sie Deutsch, and Adolf would be ones proverbial uncle!!

Yeah Pete, a great programme and very well put together.

I have the misfortune to have to drive last the old factory in Castle Bromwich every day....the statue at the Spitfire Island is even nicer in the flesh than on the show!

Guy Martin is a star and a damned good bike rider....he dominates at Olivers Mount in Scarborough and would love him to win a superbike race at the TT.

I loved the bit where the lady who built them said they worked 7 days a week with just a week off in July. Ok as she loved working there!! Fantastic!!

Cheers Steve
