It is held with a series of small (3/8ths I think) nuts at the rear, it is not an easy job.... two ways to do it, pull the whole dash or:

Disconnect battery

drop column to the end of the nuts, remove lower switch panel (4 screws and very tight fit, be carefull)

Remove instrument panel (pull speedo cable first and remember the ammeter wires are bolted)

remove radio

remove glovebox liner

remove A/C conduits and outlets if fitted

remove heater controls

remove holding nuts (3/8ths drive socket with various extensions etc_

Pull pad forward and out

Re-fit is reverse, fit all ne wbulbs to the instruments panel and chack the ammeter insulators for damage as you go.

Good luck it is a hateful job.

Cheers Alex. Sounds a pig of a job. I only put the Rallye Dash back in last night as well. There's no radio or glove box liner to remove so maybe I should be thankful.
