This thing. Is it the drain plug ? Siphon tube needed to empty, pump clean stuff back in ?
Daft question I know, but I've read they don't always have one.

Now passed customs.
Now on route.
Now in posession.
Now costing me sh*t loads.
I got a cheap pump and sucked the fluid out of my differential. Took a while to get the pipe all the way down to the bottom but managed it in the end. Wasn't any glitter in it so I'm presuming there's no chunks of iron sat at the very bottom, haha.
Refilling it was easy, thanks to the integrated fillers on the new fluid's bottle.
Or you can pull the half shafts, Prop, and drop all 85lbs Plus of pig out and spill stinking EP80/90 everywhere and put new in!!!!
...or you can take the easy option and check / top up!
Ha ! That sounds like the 'voice of bitter experience'.
Nah - taking the vendor at his word of 'no funny noises' - I dont want to take an axle apart - as far as I can see they are voodoo and best left to professionals...
Fluid change will do for now. Clean, paint, rebuild brakes.
Personally I would strip out the half shafts and diff to leave a bare case to sandblast and powdercoat. Not hard to do at all and you can fit a new diff gasket while you are at it. You can't make a decent job of cleaning and painting the axle with it fully assembled IMO.
Apart from setting the end float on the half shafts when reassembling (which is dead simple) it really is just nuts and bolts. The voodoo is located inside the diff itself and there is no need to mess with that.
