Dumb question of the day…

Is there a simple way to ID a Holley with no choke horn? T’internet has sent me down a rabbit hole of a million numbers and varying opinions.

Found a random carb on my shelf, all I know at this point is it’s vac secondaries and is missing the choke horn. Was going to order a rebuild kit and use it as practice / resell it, but can’t id it.

It has numbers on the metering blocks, base plate and C7 / C8 stamped on the bowls, but can’t find anything that corresponds to the advice online or in my book.

Any ideas? I’ve looked in the sticky and that didn’t shed any light either.

No in short, the LIST number is stamped on the choke horn.

Post some pictures up.

The other crude check is to read / measure the size of the butterflies and then do a search on the LIST records. A process of elimination.

If it has a single fuel feed and a transfer pipe to the second fuel bowl it is probably no bigger than a 600cfm unit.

Cheers Pete, that’s as I thought. I knew the list number was on the horn, but this looks like it’s been modded in a couple of places as well as having the horn removed, so might just move it on as a “needs rebuilding” if I can’t figure out which kit I need.

Search for "holley list numbers" and you will find a Holley .PDF file with all the part numbers.

Start searching for the numbers you have - start with the Throttle Blade sizes to get you in the ball park.

Then you can check the Metering Block numbers, etc....
