I do love a Winters!
24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not…

You might remember on My LHD Barracuda I had to remove and refit one of the inner wings as it was so badly fitted by the factory. Well here we are again, both sides this time have been sloppily fitted, not as bad but not right either. I’m buggered if I’m going to remove both of them to correct it so it can stay as a reminder that these cars were chucked together. I checked the vin numbers and this one is 50 thousand cars before my LHD car so the line assembly guy had plenty of practice to get really bad at it…

Slowly moving electrics from the engine bay to under the dash before prepping for paint. Really didn’t want to be doing this but there’s just too much surface rust that needs to be dealt with before it gets serious.

The RHD cars have the steering box bolted to the chassis leg unlike the LHD cars which have it bolted to the K frame. Its a well known issue with RHD cars cracking the chassis by the steering box due to flexing. Amazingly this one hasn’t cracked or been repaired but I don’t want to be fixing it later. A brace made from 1/8” plate covers the offending area and should do the trick. When I get the suspension and steering box off I’ll brace the other side as well and that should be a permanent solution. Fixed the bit of grot on the inner wing as well while I had the welder out.
