Just thought. The little notches I cut in the tops of the bores for valve reliefs will take a touch of compression out too.

What the hell. I'm calling it 10.5:1 compression ratio. :thumbright:

That's a nice number Dave :thumbright: , don't be too concerned if it runs around 32/34* spark lead.

Next problem.

I just discovered one of my rockers has not had the oil way drilled that feeds oil to the adjuster and pushrod cup.

I got these rockers second hand from a member on here a couple of years ago at least so the chances that the old Bananarama! Dave Hughes will replace it are small.

I might have a go drilling it myself but the angle it goes in at has to be spot on otherwise it will miss the oil groove it feeds from in the middle of the rocker. :?

As it happens this rocker is not on one of the pushrods that failed (shown next to it) and in fact the adjuster looks fine.

Was the right hand rocker arm clearanced for PR cup or has the pushrod clearanced the rocker arm. :D

Get the drill out Dave.

That was one the PR bent on Adam so it got a clout.

Anyway. I got the little hand drill out. Used my steady hand and sharp eye. I ended up just 0.5mm off dead center on the oilway. ;)

Bad back is holding me back at the moment but struggling on. :thumbright:

Drew kindly sent me some parts the other day.

Full set of new Pushrods (with stronger materials used for the ends even though they claim there was nothing wrong with the old versions).

Complete ARP head bolt set (cheapskate me was still using the original bolts).

Two ProMax Carb metering plates that accept jets rather than having to be drilled like the originals.

These could be handy. I had drilled my original plates out to a size that equates to around a #85 jet. Mopar usually say to jet the rear carb two sizes richer.
So after screwing these plates on I installed 2x#84 jets in the front and 2x#86 in the rear. See how that works out. At the track I want to try going richer on the outer carbs to see if MPH picks up any.
Nice to have real screws in these plates too rather than those silly "clutch screws" Holley fits.

These days I keep a large print of the head bolt torque sequence handy when doing this. Otherwise I forget where I am at.

I noticed some very slight witness marks on the underside of the rockers where the edge of the spring is just catching slightly. So I removed a little material in this area to clear.

Got half the pushrods in last night. Hopefully the rest will be on tonight with the intake. Then I just need the exhaust bolted back on. :thumbright:
