I thought it sat straight not up at the back from what I remembered, yeah sadly I think Dinger was more into show than go. As I said, I gave up trying to help them pretty quick, they were miles off on the timing and other things, and to not be able to take the covers off like that well.......
I blew one engine up in my career, I bought a 440 engine from Gary Jauncy, an ex Dinger engine, never felt right from the off, only good thing to survive from that which was any good was the Hauser Heads and Harland Sharp roller rockers, nearly lost me the Modified Championship that year as well. had to put the stock engine back in. Oh well, at least just looking at a Hemi engine was enough to get you excited

I saw that car run a 9.80, he also owned a black tube chassis duster which he sold because he was quoted a lot of money for a front grill.

Dinger had 2 early Barracuda's, the first one that crashed and the other which was lower and is now on the street up north with a blown 440 in it. I could tell you all sorts of funny stories about him. I wouldn't ever run against him in the first car because I knew he was too crazy to ever lift and I knew how badly the car was built. It was always going to Bananarama! was just a matter of when.

If you haven't found it yet, have a look here,
http://www.moparuk.com/forums/garage.php?mode=main
You'll find the Dart spec. there. The 'Cuda will have an old school 440 six pack motor, nothing too fancy, both are street/strip cars allegedly.....

Did Dinga's other Cuda become "Rumblefish"??
I assume the rolled one was kippered and not rebuilt?

Thats right Pete,Rumblefish belongs to Brett Smith,Bradford,as the ex Neimantis iron headed blown 440,as run 10.9s on the motor,10.0 on the squeeze.
He never goes to the strip now, just uses it on the street.

I was offered the black Duster before he bought it. I had the trans out of it but first run down the track the sprag went. It looked a lot nicer before those stripes were put on it.

Welcome to the forum, Les.
This thread is the best read we've had on here for ages.
Will we be seeing you at any of the race meetings this season ?
