If all goes well we'll be goin to santa pod on the 8th April to a peak performance test day, if the weather looks good for 18th Feb we might go to the Saturday Night Special, but having gone in Oct to watch and seeing how busy it was we might not get many runs in,
The 451 in the for sale section was the engine we had got for the satellite, but it is now surplus to requirements, my dad has just bought a 605ci short motor, it has come out of a 70 Challenger 'vert, street car, it made 580hp @ 3400rpm at the rear wheels and 790 ld/ft torque at 3800rpm also at rear wheels with 906 heads an 10-1 comp, it went dead over 4k, we plan on putting our Brand new Indy 440-1's on after speaking to Ken Lazeredy (spelling?) at Indy, He thinks it will make an easy 850 hp on pump gas, and as yet we are un decided whether to go fo a big NOS kit or a big Pro Charger, but whatever happens it should be fun

Just bringing this thread back to life,
The RoadRunner is due back out on track at easter with a 605 motor, and the 67 Satellite is now at Frank Griffins having a new back half job (ladder bars removed and 4 link installed) all the tin work is being done in ali, we decided to go to Frank after seeing his excellent work on a Ford Pop he did for Chris Round (Rebelious dragster and brother of Clayton Round- Rebel T NFAA) we've just recieved confirmation from Geoff Martin from UK Chassis Tech that the car IS deffinately Chromemolly so will Tag to 7.50 when Frank has finnished with it, it will be running the 493ci ali motor which we have just picked up from Andy Mapes who has repaired the block and machined the 440-1 Heads for jessel rocker gear, we have everything to put this motor together bar 2 replacement con rods which we should recieve next week, we have 2 here but eagle sent the wrong pin size to straightline in michigan, he didnt check as he assumed they'd be ok (we're not blaming him as he's sending us replacements at his own cost before we've even returned the wrong ones) and we've had a big roller cam custom ground, it will be running a 2 speed glide, and should hit the track in late 2007 or early 2008, i'll post some pics when we pick the car up from Frank

Just a quick update, after a few weeks doing odd nights here and there we had the 493 ally motor all but built, had the heads on, put the push rod length checker in so we could cut the rods to length and there are some serious clerance issues, on all 8 intake push rods, so as we need to strip the block back down and have it machined for more clearance, we are going to be putting the 605 back in tomorow night (apparently its my birthday present helping my dad put the motor back in actually on my birthday instead of going to the pub!) we now have a new converter which is all ok for nitrous and transbrake, it has a billet front on and is one of the beefiest looking converters ive ever seen! Duncan has sorted the box out for us again cheers mate

and all being well we'll be at york testing the box out on sunday and then we should be ready for the Nats, we are yet un decided whether to try nitrous on this engine,i think 100 hp should be ok my old man is a bit wary, we'll see.....
