Great work there John, just looked at the work you did on the car on your website! top class job, have you done any restorations before? would you reconmend giving it a go or just getting someone to do it? dont know if i would be able or have the patience to do that kind of job, would be afraid i'd get so far and then just get lazy and skimp here and there!

Good job though! looks great :thumbright:

Mo, no this is a first attempt.

For most of my life I've wanted a Charger but never been in a position to own one. But I do like all B's & E's and the RR came along when the funds where there and the wife said yes so I took the chance and grabbed the bull by both horns. 4 speed, air grabber, coupe was more than I could resist despite my mate telling me I was a moron. :D (tell me somethin' I dont know) It was origonally suposed to be a trunk reinstatement then use as it was but it just spiraled  then use the car during the summer and take it off the road for the winter and do a bit more. I have got fed up with it on more than one occasion and felt that I had bit off more than I could chew. Even really considered getting shut!

But i'm glad I didnt and really looking forward to getting it out and about this year :thumbright: .

Well its a credit to you, the hard graft is over now as far as i can see, and when you have it on the road you can be proud to say its your work and enjoy the envious faces turning to look as you cruise past :thumbright:

Ive just bought a similar project car, with tha same amount of work needed as far as i can see so far, the trunk is repaired and needs some other body repairs like the rear filer panel and bottom 1/4's, but im sure i will ru into other bits as i go along.
I really want this one to be the ONE and have it in a show and usable condition (if there is such a thing) but i dont know if im up to it, the mechanicals are no probs but the body work end isnt really my thing! There's not alot of people over here wiling to take on such a car, all they seem to want to do is handy crash repairs on regular cars and turn their noses up at this, i have been talking to a person on the board who is well up for the job, but i have to see how funds will take it as to get the car over and back will cost a bit too!
anyway enough of me hijacking your thread, best of luck with and i hope to see it at the nats later this year. :thumbright:

Thanks Mo.

If the bodywork isnt your thing then let a pro do it. I would highly recomend Dave Kerr ( moparnutterz ) Awsome 318 plum crazy Chally and responsible for the work on my car :thumbright: . It was the single most expensive part of the project but money well spent. I painted the underside and although not perfect looks pretty good but I did not trust myself with the finish panals. And there are some good painters local to me but I want a Mopar guy to finish and Dave fitted the bill.

Actually I dont think I should be promoting Dave. He say's he's NOT doing anymore because there too bloody big

Got a bit more done on the car. weather a bit milder so I managed to get the car out and clean off!

Some of the air grabber bits have been sent to the zinc coaters and I'm just waiting for the phonecall to pick em up then I can re assemble it.

The dashpad wont stay flat so I will have to glue it down before the screen goes in.

Jobs left to do include mainly the interior. But I'm getting stuck now and need professional help. Have ordered from U.S Automotive, some rear door cards and sail panals plus some more bits and pieces I need.

Hopefully I can get it down to Dave Madders soon once the screens gone back in, with some much appreciated help from Dave & Alex we'll see this car out & about this spring.

I'd really like to see it at York on the 4th of May.

If that's a repro dash pad, I'm not at all surprised! Mine was half an inch short at either end too!

Looking good mate, not long now!

Yeah it's a repro Ivor spent ages tryin' to get it to sit right, just give up int the end. Friend of mine came up with the idea of masking off the dash and running some glue under there. So I'll give it a go this weekend whist I'm on with glueing the trunk rubber in.

Hopefully see you at the next Preston Cruise Ian, but your alway's welcome down here you know that :thumbright:

Wheels came with the car Mick. They were probably brand new when bought with the tyres many years ago then left stood. The back ones arnt very good really, they've stared to corrode badly. Gave them a good clean up best I could. I was thinking of speaking to Budge about one of those sets of 15"'s he has :-k but I'm undecided yet have enough to buy still. If I were choosing wheels though would be Magnums I think or maybe even rally wheels. It was steelies until I saw the '70 Deep Burnt Orange 440 six pak RR from Belguim at the Nats in 2006 and it put me right off em. But the cragers will do the job for now. All as I've done is turn the tyres around so the lettering is on the outside.

Your car is awsome, Ive got some crackin' pictures of your car  I would hope to park at side of yours 'n' get some photo's @ the Nats :thumbright:
