Great jig pics there! Good ol JC cracking on with it as usual
Going back to your engine, I'd recommend having the block and heads looked at by someone like Hauser's. I made the mistake of thinking my block looked ok, just needs a hone and so got on with ordering the parts.
A last min decision made me take the block up to Hauser's to get it properly cleaned and honed and it was then they discovered the water damage in the bores

Not too much of a problem in itself but I now have £700 worth of pistons that I cant use.
So my

worth is :get the heads and block cleaned, checked and ok'd then if its all clear crack on with part ordering

Thanks good advice.

Need to get my head round everything and try and sort out a plan of action or before I know it time will fly and I'll have nothing done ready for when the car comes back.

well the car is on the jig lets say 2" out and its got a lot of rust not to mention the bad workmanship before, if we can save this one well the gods are on our side now you ask whats the new bulk head like s**t some one cut it to short and its rusty, anyway back to cutting the front end off.

Right this is the 3rd attempt at writing a reply. Every time I open the view more emoticons bit and add a praying image it's completely scrubbed out everything I've blooming written
Rant over.
Clivey we were just very lucky with timing to see it unfold so to speak in front of us. There is still a huge amount of work that needs to be done and un-picking someone elses botch up won't be easy. Basically someone tried to make the front fit the chassis rather than fix the chassis then the front. Also the bulkhead that I found left no room or length on the pillars etc so nothing to play with at all but it's better than nothing and a huge improvement on what's on the car all be it not show winning fantastic.
I'll be praying to the gods for John and Andy and I hope you lot will join in

My god. Thank you for those. Think this is one that will go down in a few books just for how bad it is. Can you email me the photos you have of it please so I can whack them in my little collection

Wish I could go and see it but I don't finish work till after John has gone and I'm working Sat too. Keep the photos coming.
