Well need less to say by my posts I am chomping at the bit to get this car back.

Today it gets color(If you want to call black a color),the car is being painted in parts, fenders deck lid have been done and Mike my painter is color sanding everything,

but from what I have seen this car will be stunning, the roof had over 50 hail dents ,now lazer straight,I am so stoked and excited I can hardly wait.

I am really lucky this time of year we had a bad hail season, and recent arctic cold, so the shop was full ,I mean jam packed with the latest victims of the weather.

Yea its not your state of the art unit but it is good enough it is a downdraft booth,

and if I were to do it ,I would have to rent the booth, time it right ,hope the weather holds up ,and then spend all night getting it done , hurrying ,usually spill something, not have time to get everything painted, have to rent the booth again, I am very happy to pay someone for this part, it is the fun part I have done it but it is also the hardest part to make it right.

This guy can flat out paint,he is very good ,got the color ,now final wet sanding, ending with 5000 grit on a buffer,

then a nice final polish and it should be back in our hands for assembly in one week :hello1: :hello1: :hello1:

You can see the shine under the scuffing......... I know that sounds weird... But it is true..... When you knock it down like that, that is when you can see how flat it really is, and you can kinda see the shine underneath teasing you to go get it! Looks great Drew... Now take your time, and protect all those edges and corners on re assembly!

Yea you can say that again.assembly of painted parts is not fun.

And the wet sanding process is pretty cool what looks smooth ,is actually not smooth at all :thumbright:

No that is right..... Any custom work I do after clearcoating, is scuffed.... That is when you can see that there is actually orange peel on there, even if you could not see it before. Then clearcoated again, for a real smooth finish.... Oh but wait! Let's wet sand it again to make absolutely sure it is flat...... Then Polish for a perfect finish...... Then people ask why so expensive!
