Wow Pete, the car looks absolutely gorgeous! Very subtle and a lovely colour too. Thanks for the pics. And those planes the ones with the wooden airframes?

Yes, Steve - everything apart from the Engines, control surfaces, and guns are wood - even the drop tanks were made of wood!
Carried a bigger bomb load than a Boeing B17 and at over 400 mph.
Financed, designed, and built in Hatfield - I lived in one of the original de Havilland tied cottages built for the workforce.

Yes, matching numbers engine too. 440 Big Block.
I was SO pleased to get the Welds off, Great on the Challenger Race car but not on this.....

I have just ordered the correct Dark Argent "Organasol" (no sniggering at the back..) Paint for the Grille and the "Gills" - a job I am NOT looking forward to doing...

That's a great story Pete. Must be a nightmare trying to keep these beautiful old planes going. Hats off to the staff who do it. I love Duxford by you but my favourite is the RAF museum at Cosford. I've spent hours there, fascinating stuff on display
I love 15" Rallye wheels on 70 Cudas but I'm beyond boring when it comes to wheels. All the little bits of detailing will pay off in the end Pete, will be worth the effort

great pics , nice to see em being used, been out today, gassed the RT , plus 10 gallons in jerry's,
having a maybe last hurrah, ive put the Chally up for sale , the dreaded E bay next.....................................
Lots of Mopars currently on offer, so looks like prices will nose dive! typical i never get the timings right
