Yeah, I paid for yesterdays progress on the car today... Every bit of me hurts like a Bananarama!. Benn dosed up on painkillers all day, onto the cider now.
Hopefully I'll have a better day tomorrow :thumbright:

Know the feeling, Raked and tamped 5CuM of concrete for the garage apron yesterday....

As they say in Lethal Weapon, "I'm getting too old for this Bananarama!"....

So this was the situation this morning...

...and now it's done :D I'll need to replace the exh manifold gaskets when the new ones arrive but apart from that it's all back together, wheels on the ground, ready to drive!

Did you take down the bellhousing or just drop the clutch out the bottom?

I took the bellhousing off, that way is much easier on my car.

Sorry, not posted on here for a while.
Not loads to report tbh. I'm bedding the new clutch in, about 250 of the required 500 miles done.
The engine, gearbox and front shock leaks are all cured, which is bloody great!!
I've been meddling with the 850 carb to see if I could iron out a couple of minor issues. I managed to make it a lot worse, then filled the manifold with fuel when I jammed the float putting the sec bowl back on. This was 5 miles from home, on a deserted industrial estate, half an hour before dark...
Carb off, mopped up what fuel I could, returned carb settings to original. Bolted it all back together and off home to sulk.
I rand Ade W after and he talked me through the carb settings again. I reckon I'll have it as good as it can be after my next twiddling session. :thumbright:

Never really seen a mopar manual tranny. Those shift linkage look like they're from an earthmover!

Hey Paul. Why such a big carb? Has it got annualar boosters? Just wondering what sort of signal the carb is reading at lower rpms.
Spent some hours tuning and playing with my two carbs and still can't fully decide what my car likes best, although both are smaller than your 850.
I suspect our motors are not dissimilar now although you certainly have more cam. Of course I'm stuck with a torque convertor wheats your manual trans will allow more carb I suspect.

I've not done much lately apart from carb tinkering and just driving the thing!
My dash lights have been feeble so I thought I'd investigate. Also the speedo was sticking at around 25mph. A careful blast with the airline cleared out some debris stuck to the magnets and it seems ok now.

A general clean, a couple of new bulbs and soldering some loose pins has made a tiny improvement on the lighting, but it's still not very bright.

Any ideas?

Could be the voltage regulator maybe, mine packed in altogether, changed it for an electronic one and changed all the dash bulbs for LED's and all works well now.

Do you mean the main ignition regulator or does the dash have some sort of regulator? My ign is electronic and the rest of the electrical system works fine, it's just the dash that's poo.

Here is my dazzling light display
