Blimey Bacca

Quite a statement

1 step at a time

The dyno is booked for 19th May and we will be there for the day and we will be trying everything, doing individual pulls and noting all settings

Am taking refrigerated fuel  / race gas / pump gas / carb spacers /

and we can try severall different timing settings

I still can`t believe Dave Billygoat built this for £1 per c.i.

Pretty much ready for dyno pull next week.

Carb spacer is to mock up distance I need to fit the refrigerated air intake plenum which will go on once I get the motor back to Norfolk.

Am taking refrigeration kit to the dyno shop that will get batches of my fuel anywhere from ambient to - 50 c on the day so will be able to simulate the partial effect of the intercooler.

Had the motor on the dyno yesterday

492.8 TQ @ 4700 RPM

490.5 HP @ 5600 RPM

Did 8 pulls in all including one with fuel at -37 c ( had no effect at all on a carb`d motor but will definately work on a rootes blower according to Dennis who has had cooling issues with Steve Nimantis` blower set up ). Slight oil leak from the rear seal but no dramas.

Big thanks to Dave Billadeau for all his work ... he`s done a lovely job and would recommend him to anyone. I`M VERY VERY HAPPY WITH THE MOTOR :D

Southerners - just remember, jobs take longer oop north cause you have to have regular tea breaks, chip butty runs and hear about everyone`s racing pigeon

:D

Hi Latil

Thanks

Surprisingly, race gas had absolutely no effect at all, so premium unleaded it will be.

C/R is 11.2.

Will also get a lambda sensor on the exhaust with a handheld so I can keep an eye on its state of tune

The future is bright, the future is Hemi Orange!
twin Turbo and LPG

pay 60p per liter for your over 100 RON fuel (110-115 RON with the right mix)
a fuel that is already cold, very cold if you run no evaporator
and won't fall out of suspension

twin turbo
twin Impco or OHG 450 gas carbs (no camping cookers)

rising rate regulators plumbed into boost

that is the way forward

look to Australia for inspiration they have been doing it for years
