Looking good Dave.

I tried the LED bulbs on indicator, but ended up with the orange bulb, as the LED was not very good in day light, don't know why.

Don't worry about the paint

I had no luck at all with LED stop & tail bulbs. I had 2 pairs of different makes from different suppliers and all of them fed across causing the side markers and dash lights to flash with the indicators among other things.

Dave, like those trans cooling lines. Did you have them made up or buy them? Might need to re fit mine to clear the headers and those look good.

I'll be keeping the orange bulbs just in case, but will see with the LED's......I bloody hope they work they are not cheap!

All the routing (bar the hydraulic mounts) were from Torques UK off Ebay. Teflon Braided hose:

That coupled with the black AN6 Teflon fittings......Beware AN fittings are expensive when you consider what's needed for less than 3 meters of pipework.

I think it costs at least £100 to do the trans cooler in braided -AN hoses, but on the track it is worth it......as Rob Tyrell when his rubber ones blew off at the big end and all the ATF got over his slicks............

Yep expensive Pete, nearly double when you add in shipping.....

For those that are interested in the cost to do the trans cooler upgrade:

Hose (albeit 6m worth) is = £58.
4x 90 deg fittings = £49.96
4x straight fittings = £27.96
2x bulkhead connectors = £11.98
4x bulkhead nuts = £3.96
2x 1/8NPT to AN6 fitting = £5.78
2x Mocal oil cooler fitting to AN6 = £11.98
4x Hose separator = £15.16

= £184.78 parts plus shipping

Oil Cooler mounting bracket = £22.49
Heat Sheath = £25.43
Mocal Oil Cooler (235mm 13row) = £65.98

= £298.68

You may be able to get it cheaper or go with normal braided hose etc..........I only plan on doing this once!

Also the front hose connection on the gearbox is nearly impossible to get to (tranny oil pan/belhousing/cooler line/exhaust....all in the way). If you can drop the box a bit to aid in removal of old and tightening of the new fittings, as the movement is probably restricted to 1/8 turn each time.
I stuck at it but it took at least an hour to do that one!

Get yourself some tweezers too..........Removing metal splinters from hands is free!

well done dave your making good progress, leave the slam panel off, its a lot easier to gain access to mounting the grille etc. what shade of met blue you gone for ,looks very similar to mine. Richard.

Not a colour that was available back in the day, but still Mopar!

Saw one of these, in this colour at Supercar Sunday over 10 years ago........Stunning!

need to solder diodes into the wiring.

Update:

Slight deviation on the factory grill.....Firstly like most 40 year olds its seen better days. Few bits have broken off and the silver accents have worn and now look grubby.

It all adds to the character of the car I suppose!

I love the Dart, but if I'm being honest the grill in 72 was a slight step backwards to previous years. This was made worse by the silver accents exaggerating the HUGE indicator covers.......bit too fussy!

Its just not mean/sinister enough, so after watching Big Muscle with the Identity crisis Dart.........
