Absolutely cracking work as always....I love the detailed photos you put on too, many thanks. This is going to be a truly stunning car when its done and you will be very glad you put as much work in as you are.

I know the feeling about getting older. Everything hurts and I get tired much quicker. Getting towards the end of my garage build. I used to be able to do long hours at work then come home and do more hours on DIY etc. Now, if I can put in an 8 or 9 hour day laying blocks, concreting footings etc then I feel very lucky. I usually do 3 or 4 now, have a decent break and go back to it for a few more. Being retired really helps but Ive definately slowed down now. You should be chuffed with all t
Your hard, painful work, it will be worth it in the end :thumbright:

Cheers son, I’m 69 this September, still working 4 9 hour days trying to keep 40 buses and coaches on the road,
As fast as I repair them the numpty drivers crash em!
And I quite often have to repair and refinish the cars they collide with !

Been so busy at work I’ve not managed to do much to the TA parts, but fortunately I’m almost done now,
Did manage to refinish the Steering pump and allied brackets etc ,

But I’m the same I used to be able to work all day and then go into the garage and do 3-4 hours ,
I’m exhausted now when I get home !

I’ll be in the garage today though, need to start the rear drop off repairs,

bus drivers must got to the same driving school as lorry drivers then. i was always doing repairs to my dad's lorries because of numpty drivers. it was never their fault though, someone always 'made' them do it by whatever they did. yeah, course they did #-o
neil.

Yep professional drivers are a strange breed !
:D
They alway say @ well at least we keep you busy “

Anyway managed to get the right hand drop off in,
I fabricated this from scratch,
Tricky little panel as all pressed parts are ,
400 tons and hardened dies the metal will go were you want it to !
But yeah it’s ok,
Got two more small repairs to do then I’ll be finished with the floor thank goodness!

Check out QMax sheet metal hole punches. More expensive than blade type, but clean cut and last much longer.

Managed to get the left hand door dressed and skinned this week,
Bloody heavy things, but at least that’s 50% of the doors done !

This she’ll had some corrosion to the bottom,
And blasting showed up some pin holes , so I chopped it out and knocked up a new lower section,

Skins are AMD and to be honest not great,
But better than try the repair my slightly tatty originals !
I’m not overly bothered with laser straight panels and tiny gaps etc, just want the shell as corrosion and gob free as possible!
I fully intend to rag this old girl , she’s 55 years old and needs some fun !

Haha
This is actually my very large spray booth
Which I’d normally crap myself at making this sort of dust and mess !
It’s for painting only,
However I’ve got a smashed bus in my main workshop,
Several damaged ones on the wash pad
So had zero choice and I’ll have a ton of cleaning up next week!
Plus it will get a full service at the end of June,
So that’s all good!
:-$

Done the other drop off yesterday,
This only had a few pin holes following blasting and acid
Probably could have just epoxied sealed it and forgot about it
However my ocd kicks in and bang , chop it out and in with new material,
Ran out of time so I’ll have to get it in epoxy at some point this coming week, I’ve already filled and squared the repair but took the snaps before this ,

Once completed I’m finally finished with the underside cleaning and repairs,
Just need to decide what to Bananarama! with,
Red oxide epoxy, or Black Raptor,
Really don’t care for tinted Raptor,

For what its worth, I would do black Raptor as you plan to use her and enjoy her. Im no expert but have had dealings with guys who off road Landrovers and they swear by it. What would the factory finish be out of interest?
