Bit more work been going on over the winter months. Used a pair of '68 R/T springs, front section shortened to '65 size, re arched to super stock profile and poly bushed. Mopar performance drag shocks fitted. New prop with 1350 UJ's (old one was 7260 and 2" too short). Fresh race spec 727 with cheetah full manual reverse pattern valve body and a deep pan. Period Winters gate shifter kindly donated from the Jim Smith project, I added a black flake knob, as you do. Genuine '60's Superior 500 blue flake wheel with just the right amount of patina pulled out of my collection.

Fitted front disc brake set up from a '74 Dart, this is a straight bolt in to these early cars, even the Dart brake hoses fit. Fitted some 90/10 shocks and re bushed the suspension. Got rid of the single circuit brake nastiness with a 15/16" bore master cylinder which also bolts straight in. Used the distribution block from the Dart and made all new brake lines. Jem found some undamaged bumpers with good chrome so we nailed those on. Fitted a super stock scoop which is a really nice piece, it bolted on perfectly with no work at all, the contour to the bonnet is perfect. Jem spent a few hours distressing it to suit. Fixed a few electrical gremlins that were causing an intermitant misfire, and it runs well now. So that's it for the moment, it's ready for it's first runs down the track at the Picnic, and we'll leave it alone for now, more work planned after the season is over....

Oh, and fitted an old Sun blueline fuel pressure gauge out on the cowl as well, forgot about that, and some period decals that Jem has distressed...

Excuse my igorance but what is the clamp round the leaf spring for ?

That's to stiffen the front spring section Jerry, some poeple also add another one closer to the front spring eye, but I think this is enough in this case. Must chop the ends of those bolts off....

I love it Blue. The mental picture of Jem distressing that hood scoop is just too funny
Look forward to seeing it (and Jem) at Shakey next week.
