Yeah, that tag really caught my eye, seeing as its a.) on the wrong side! and b.) apparently aluminum. The Challys bolted together in Paris were initally assembled in Hamtramck, then shipped to Paris for final assembly. The quick way to discern the VIN on your challenger is this: If your car has a vin matching its North American counterparts, it is not going to be a SIMCA Challenger. In other words, if the VIN is JS29U0E126085, its not French. If the VIN is 8 (which looks like an upside down keyhole) 126085, then you are in. A big red flag is also a fender tag made in Natural Aluminum, (hmmm...See above?) as opposed to the same sheetmetal the rest of the car. It could possibly have snippets of smaller tags underneath the fendertag if it was the American car. Ill look around for more info...Does or did your car have these bizarre "LICENSE TALBOT" mirrors mounted on the front wings?
Yep, Daves site is a Ronseal!!!Kev wrote:Seriously though. Join Dave's board. It is THE place for Challenger owners.....![]()
