i assumed before teardown that it would have been a rod or bolt, amazed to see the crank busted, thanks for info link

don't know the weight of the pistons and rods but arp show an example and at 7900rpm recip weight is 30,000lbs, not far off a 40ft artic and tractor unit

yes i looked in to that sort off thing yrs ago and the tonnage pulling on the crank is wild,
