at least we know why it was only burnin one wheel at the nats, and your box was that bollaxed it sounded like you were slippin all the time
its your race car, put a spool in it
yes pete it getting lots of gas when it went but with a diff like that & slipping box, Im quite pleased I did a 11.5 at only about 112 i think
just bought moser shafts but not yet fitted
duncan is this what you mean buy a spool: http://store.summitracing.com/partdetai ... toview=sku
but thats for a 30 spline & I think mines only about 22- will check tomorrow
Good call on the Mosers, Andy. Getting the banjo braced may be a good idea whist you are at it. Ladder bars put a lot of torsional strain on the tinwork.
Andy, Its the diff carrier (correct me if I'm wrong) called a banjo presumably because it looks like the circular skin on the banjo instrument you just mentioned....
Oh bloody hell Andy, I feel well embarrased now, It was working all OK the last ime it raced! HONEST! That was the 10.9 with and 12.1 without. Box and diff allseemed OK.
BUT that thing is gonna fly soon. Best of luck mate, at least all the gremlins should be gone for the new season.
Looks like I may be at my first Nats this year too, so if ya need a push or two... The 3 Browns will bw there to help in anyway. And 1 of em is now a fully qualified mechanic!! How bout that!! Just what I always needed.
dont worry jeff, its just one of thoose things, blue lined me up a spool for £60, so not an expensive fix
dont think the car will any faster just will be more realiable hopfully, I think you were just lucky
If any thing falls off or breaks now there any only one person to blame
Did I also tell you what else can happen when you have a driveline failure?
Sprag failure in the transmission!, which allows the clutch drum to spin at anything up to 18000rpm. Guess what happens then? Bang!!! as the drum explodes.
Would always recommend a trans sheild, just in case!!!
