Blue is talking about a light race car , your Jenson is a different ball game , if you don't believe what i'm saying , maybe some of the other guys will chime in. ;)

Low compression 'smog' motors can handle more spark advance , bearing in mind you're running around 10:1 static compression , chances are it will detonate with anything more than 38* total advance @ 3000 rpm , on pump gas.

10:5.1 compression is the max you want to run for pump gas , bearing in mind you want somewhere around 40 thou quench , any more than this your gonna run the risk of detonation or haveing to run high octane fuel.

Don't know why you would be concerned Pete , as the car will never see the street , could'nt be easier , more bricks you lay means higher octane you can go.;)

Pete , dynamic compression will never be higher than static compression , no matter what the cam profile may be (IVC) , blowers , turbos , nitrous not included. :D
