Here is Bob`s Daytona in 1978 without the wing or nosecone.

And his reverse lights were stuck on even then!

Yes, the Shot at Billing is my 6 pack Bird (4 speed) and the Daytona.

Bird went to NZ with John Houlihan, who had a 4 speed Daytona - Hemi Orange & White tail.

My Blue Bird and Daytona went to Socal/Nevada.

Adam was this photo taken at Long Marsden in the mid 80's 85/86? I'm sure I've got a photo (somewhere) of that car in that position at the back of the field. It's almost the same camera angle too I'll have a look for it !

Have they always been worth an absolute fortune, or is this a relatively recent thing ?

(I mean, I know that from the showroom they had to practically give Daytonas/Superbirds away, but in the 2nd hand market is what I mean)

When did the AWESOME prices start, or has it been that was for donkeys years ?

I don't think ANY Mopar was worth much until the mid to late 80s. Then like all classic cars they suddenly doubled in price over a very few years and (after a drop around 1990) they have been going up in price since.

The bigger and R/t etc cars have always been more than the weenie 318s and a-body cars.

I seem to remember the Superbirds here always did fetch a chunk more money than any other B or E bodies (except hemis). They were still affordable to the average bloke back then mind.

In 1979 when I sold my 1968 coronet for £350 to Armet in Mill Hill I could have bought his 440 six pack superbird for £2500
