seriusly though this is a good post to bring up, safety is paramount and should be first on the list of mods to any car that goes down the track.Even doing 50 mph down the track and hitting the barrier is going to hurt (body and pocket). But saying that i have done it in t shirt and jeans,
(in the charger, but never in the slingshot or altered) so i certainly cant say too much. I think a good crash helmet and belts should be a minnimum in any car.You only get 1 go at life.

Yeah, Steve, like yours is rock stock
I just think people (including me) have been riding their luck a bit, and it is evident that as a club we have been going significantly faster over the last couple of years.........

Great time Steve , lets hope we can get some of these heavy 4000lb plus motors dipping in the 10s.

Yeah, but all the dynomat is in the wrong place for weight distribution. Did you ever get the car on the scales at Shakey?
Mind you the weight changes every week with all the new additions...

Agree with Dunc, did the 9.50 in a long sleeved oil soaked tshirt never thought really , but to be fair if i had a BMW soft top that run 11s i wouldn't think twice about running it down the strip with no helmet ,no seat belt and wearing speedo's

like Dunc said Not big n not clever
Phew

Amazing really, you run a 13 and want a 12, and so on, now i'm thinking if only l could leave the line better....... As has been said before, the 60ft times are SO important, and mine's still a bit crappy at 1.8, IF l could get that around 1.5, should be close to mid tens!

Safety...

Seeing the 2 guys Alan & Adam achieve those great times yesterday is great news within the club so re Bobs comments at what point do you now decide for further safety- caution.
Once you duck under the 12s and hit the 11s should roll cages be as standard, a better upgrade of braking, a different type of fire extinguisher (re carrying nos) maybe a qualified club first aider be present ...
Am only thinking of the lads safety here..so...
Is there a set of racing rules or just left to good old common sense. ???
Or maybe its time for the MMA to introduce some set of standard safety rules....?????
Just my 2 pennies worth.
Rich..
