Met up with Budgie at 10 this morning and we made our way to Shakey's in the rain. The weather brightened up after a few miles and it was still dry in Stratford. Mal stalled the Barracuda at an island and couldn't get the box into neutral or park so it wouldn't turn over. Had to use a screwdriver on the starter relay to get it going but when we had a look at Shakey's the shifter cable had melted on the headers and it was stuck in third. The dissy cap was also full of condensation and the car had been misfiring all the way. The track had just been dried when we got there after an earlier shower so we hadn't missed any racing. Met up with Guy, who was there with his camera, and I got into the fireup lane. Only managed to get two runs in before the rain started again. The track was pretty cold and I was wheelspinning through first and then the axle was tramping in second, never had that happen before. Anyway I managed a PB with a 12.7 @ 115, not as quick as I hoped but all I could expect in the conditions. Mal couldn't race without all the gears so when the rain started, rather than hang around we headed home. Next test and tune is in two weeks.

Budgie and me kept telling Mick to bolt on the slicks that Malc had taken with him ;) But he stuck to his guns and didn't. I didn't take hardly any pictures these are the only ones worth showing.

" Great job shutting the ricer down"..........bye bye Skyline

I'm proper pi55ed or'f :binky: when we did the header's n had the stater off, the shifter cable ended up the wrong side of the starter = cooked .....that was self inflicted  but then she started to run like a pig  = bleedin damp in the cap :o ( the rotors where red-rusty  ) a common problem with MSD dissy's apparently :?

Let's hope for better weather next time out.......AND, I must remember to double check, and then check again :banghead:

60 foot times were a little better than that Mal, but far from decent, 2.27 secs.
