Non Mopar trans- URGENT HELP!!!

hey paul does it drive in lockup 1 position, if it does the one way clutch in the centre support has flipped out, other than that i would think that frantic use off the shifter between drive and reverse has made the foreward clutch give up, its a while since i done a 35/65 sat tryin to think off any thin else for ya

yes you would lose all foreward drive the clutches wear so bad that the piston cannot travel far enough to clamp the clutch on, they will often overtravel and the piston comes out off its bore and cocks over and this useually locks the clutch on and wont release goes foreward in every gear position cept reverse and in that it dont go nowhere
Sounds right- it's pretty much why i had it rebuilt 1st time a coupla years ago but that was due to years of wear, neglect and water contamination. This time it all went wrong in a matter of seconds!!
I've spoken to Steve at Chester Auto Transmissions ( he rebuilt it last time ) and he said same as you Cannonball.
Seems to be a common problem with these boxes cos so many of the 4x4 boys use 'em and abuse 'em!
