awesome job on that been following a thread on that car over on moparts ... but what do you do with a car like that ... can't take it out on the road & use it properly .....

There is a cuda in the US, thats probably in the same league as this?

Loads of factory bare metal parts, that have been left unpainted and open to the elements!!!
They even recreate the flame marks on the ends of the bare metal propshaft!!!

How do you protect bare metal, and I'm not talking cosmoline here?

Due to low build quality back in the day, its always gonna be up for debate, whats right and wrong?

I've worked for some French car companies over the years and you'd be suprised how bad some new cars are!

If you get a Monday morning or a Friday afternooner, you just know its gonna be BAD to the Bone!

This Challenger is a Thursday car just as the Monthly bonus is being calculated by the line manager methinks???

On a slightly different vein, factory performance figures???

We all know that when Hosrepower sold cars, all the manufacturers lied about the performance figures, except maybe the Hemi!

Then in the early 70's when the insurers started hammering drivers, those very same engines magically lost 100 horsepower???

Very few factory cars did the business on the street and the strip!!!

We all see these cars with Rose coloured specs methinks?

I have stripped and built alot of Mopars here and in the States and most of 'em are rubbish build quality.

Its just a few bored and monied guys telling us what should be, but never was!!!

i think one of those split pins is bent at the incorrect angle. At least half a degree out I think.

Just needs a display cabinet 24 times bigger than usual now!

Lots probably. It is a restoration. But it was completely original if very tatty. He has a detailed library of every inch of the car before and during restoration.

Yep, thats perfection...........or obsession!

If you can build a car like that then its nothing to have another ratty one thrown together for going thrashing in ... then just park it under a sheet afterwards and admire the perfect one

thsat loks good, did they all come from the factory with a poorly fitting rear valence (under bumper sheet metal dosnt line up with rear quarter ) so maybe it is as it might have left the showroom
