Braced, good shafts and spool seems to get the job done. Think of the weight saving over a Dana/9 inch.

Couldn't agree more, better spending money on a different axle.Blue wrote:It's more weight and torque rather than horsepower that kills 8 3/4"'s. Personally, if I was building a heavy car with a shedload of torque, and I was going racing, I wouldn't be throwing any money at an 83 /4". Given enough weight, torque, and a sticky track, there's nothing you can do to keep an 8 3/4" in one piece, it will break, it's just a question of when.....
THAT TORQUE IS AWESOME MARK, i got 650 in my 5,5001b bentley and it feels great that cuda,s gonna get torn apartmopar_mark wrote:Couldn't agree more, better spending money on a different axle.Blue wrote:It's more weight and torque rather than horsepower that kills 8 3/4"'s. I prefer a 9" over Dana's, but that just me. My cars fairly light, but torque was the key issue for me... 1000+ ft/lb from 2500rpm through to 5,000rpm![]()
Soon be home
Had to read that twice then, thought you said in your B1 BentleyCannonball wrote:THAT TORQUE IS AWESOME MARK, i got 650 in my 5,5001b bentley and it feels great that cuda,s gonna get torn apart![]()

Yeah, I was really surprised mate, torque curve just stayed flat![]()

Soon be finished here in Poland, so will eventually have some time to sort the motor out. At least I have stopped it dying when it goes in gear, idle is a lot better, till it gets to 140 F Degrees.
Pretty sure it something in the warm up program.... taking fuel out, motor runs leaner & picks up like a crazy horse. Motor loves timing, seems to be the more the better.
Will have another go at taking some timing out or adding a bit more fuel or combination of both.
Hope to book it in on the rolling road, so can have a better shot at curing it.
Sorry to high jack your post Ade
