I had the selector rebuilt when I got it, all the shims were shot and someone had put them in the wrong way round
Never had a problem with the Z bar, actually when I sorted the shifter out it actually was a much nicer clutch than the Dart I had a few years later.

Don't have that problem with the Belv now Rich, the wipers now work

Hey Nath,
wellcome to the club! I'm sure I've bought and sold various parts to ya via ebay over the last few years. I used to have a Barracuda too, then a Duster.

A friend of mine worked at Jaguar in Coventry at the time and he got some of the guys there to make up new shims and rebuild the shifter for me, I know Hurst in the States do a rebuild service but I know it ain't cheap.

Now then, gear jamming in a notchback 440 A body...Blue will be along in a minute!

Chris rebuilt the shifters on his 440 and 383 using Coca Cola cans.

The trick is remembering which ones go where.
