Actually James is right - there is an X block (The T/A was never called an X block). It's a MP aftermarket piece and does indeed have beefed up insides, also thicker walls if I recall correctly.Bratfink wrote:Didn't they make a 340 'X' block that was supposed to have all sorts of extra strength etc?
However, you're not likely to stumble across one, but if you were building a serious motor the block would cost you less than a T/A, and be much better.
