It's not as cold as that up north, but I have had a pipe frozen in the garage before xmas. Thawd out and flooded the shop out!#-o I've no idea how long it had been running. It was running into the garden so I went in and found everything soaked. Including the seats for the Runner. I've got 2 electric heaters in there now drying everything out. It has happened before. I must remember to turn it off in October in future. The pipe was lagged but it didnt stop the pipe splitting.

Steve, she is a 13 week old rhodesian ridgeback (to join the 2 we already have). loves the creature comforts not the cold

Awww, absolutely lovely dogs. In fact, my brothers sister in law only just got discharged from St. Thomas's hospital yesterday after one took most of her nose and cheek off four days ago. It took three adults to get the dog off and restrain it.
Have to say, cosmetic surgeons can do wonders there days. Reconstructive surgery has moved on so much.

What 'make' of dog was it - out of interest.

it's 19F (-7C) out here right now, although reports saying it's going to reach around -7F (-22C) in the next week. We just don't get the pretty looking frost.

Our second bout of snow for the year just arrived this morning. Not very deep yet but it's still working on it.

It's been an odd winter so far by all accounts. Not many snow days so far, but we have had 3 ice storms which are a pain. Instead of snow on the ground there is literally a blanket of ice! We lost some branches in that and I missed my driveway 3 times! I started braking from 20mph 1/4 mile before my drive and still slid straight past it and ended up 1/2 way to the next property.

Then we had 2 days at almost 60F over xmas, followed by thunder storms and other assorted chaos. 2 1/2" rain in 2 days, our garden flooded some which has now frozen and will probably remain solid until April!

Since then it has rarely been above 25F and more often getting into single digits. The reports say it will be going -7-10 in the next few days so we are bracing for that.

Spring is when the really wild weather comes through, then we get combined thunderheads and tornados. Even Andy would be impressed with the light shows!
