Hey my car will be faster this year as it will be at least 14lb lighter, that's all come off me since the middle of December. I've not been drilled though just walking 4 miles a day and not eating crisps/snacks
Looks great blue, hope to get a retro run at the nats this year, trying to get the dusty sorted and running better this year, but how to compete with this!!! cant be done! as pete said, best car!!!
Pete wrote:No, that would be just silly. He paints the car
Actually, I think he gets Pete Rivers to do it
Walked right into that one!
Cheers, Pete! Just wondering how people get on with spraying without specialist booths or anything. THere's always a temptation to set things straight in the engine bay whilst we have the engine out. Need to paint the engine too.
24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not…
Yes it was all painted in my workshop. It needed some serious masking up and dust sheetage, you get dust everywhere when you start spraying. I did all the prep and masking up, and Pete Rivers came over to prime it and later to slosh on the basecoat and lacquer. I have to say I am very lucky to have mates like him who will come over late at night and spend hours in a freezing cold barn turning out great work like that. He also made the inner wings as well. I should also mention Gary Layton who did the same, Tig welding various bits before it got painted. I also need to name check TrevD who does all my machining and Jeff Brown my graphics guru, without great mates like these I just couldn't do what I do, between them they have the skills I lack, thanks guys!
