Definitely the Nats, my daughters wedding was booked for the same weekend and I've insisted that it was postponed...there's one very special wekend of the year and that's it!

The wedding's now in September! :thumbright:

I still think both are possible. What time is the ceremony?

The pole is pretty close, the general results point to going to the wedding which is what a good friend would do.

I'm still trying to work out if I can do both but with being up North it's a long way to go for just a day, which would be better? Go down Thursday night for the tailgate party and Friday and then head home late Friday night or do what Dave suggested and leave the wedding early and get down late Saturday for Sunday?

In all seriousness, I would say Dave's suggestion is the best, remain sober, drive down Saturday night for the knees up and enjoy the Sunday. :thumbright:

I wonder why only one or two of the 'Go to the Nats' voters have voiced why? Maybe if they where in your situation they would like to think they would have gone to the Nats but secretly knowing that they would in fact go to the Wedding too! :D

If I where in your position I would head down Thursday for the Tailgate party, have a beer or two and head home Friday night. That would leave you totally free to party hard at your Mates wedding without Beer and Clock watching all night. You'll also be able to have a lie in too on Sunday! I bet your mate would appreciate you being there till the bitter end too. :thumbright:
I'm here because Im not all there!!

I've got a similar problem Rich, I'm best man at my brother in law's wedding, so can't make the nats this year, except because I'm best man - there is no choice - Everyone is right though - there will be a lot of years of NATS - I'll be there next year with bells on - but I'm not even going to try and wangle it. I need the Charger to be running and happy to take the groomsmen to the wedding, having it come back on a tow truck in the morning of the wedding is not a possibility. - We can go down the Wellington on the Friday night and upset people with noise etc instead......

It's quite interesting that more people have voted for the ( Un ) popular option of going to the Nats , but most of the posts advocate going to the wedding . Just goes to show that most people are braver when they don't have to say anything in public .... I still say Nats personally 8-)

But would you still say Nats if it was YOUR best friends wedding. ;)
24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not…

Afraid I agree with "Triggs"...............If you had a decent Mopar, I would say "The Nats", but as you only have a `69 Charger.............................go to your mates wedding as there will be more than enough "Chargers" at the Nats.

I had the same deal a few years ago with Debs brother getting married at 3 on the Sat of the Nats.I went to the Pod Friday morning, slept the night in my van and left at 1.30 Sat afternoon.Just made it home for a quick shower and to the church.Debs has nowt to do with him now and I always thought he was a tosser,so with our old mate hindsight..............I made a bum choice,
Still a hard one though, might depend on just how GOOD a mate he is..

My mate deafed his only sisters wedding years ago to go to the Mid-west cruise in weekend at Cheltenham.Never regretted it either..(sis divorced now  )
