Saint George is the patron saint of Aragon, Catalonia, Spain,England, Ethiopia, Georgia, Greece, Lithuania, Palestine, Portugal (Brazil), and Russia, as well as the cities of Amersfoort, Beirut, Bteghrine, Cáceres, Ferrara, Freiburg, Genoa, Ljubljana, Gozo, Pomorie, Qormi, Lod, and Moscow, as well as a wide range of professions, organizations, and disease sufferers.
and he didn't fight a dragon...it was just a vicious crow menacing the people of Cyrene as they tried to get water from the city well.
we should be celebrating saint Edmund's day he was patron saint until thsi geroge fella muscled in...he stood up to the great heathen army so they tied him to a tree and turned him into a hedgehog of arrows before chopping off his head

Saint George is the patron Saint of syphilitics too.
As Dave would say....nice.
Anyway, with Saint Patrick being Welsh and St Andrew being an Israeli, this one could run and run!
