You have to remember that these altered wheelbase cars and such were running low 11s in their day. Not 9s.

I have just added this picture to the Facebook "Drag Racers Saying Thank You

" page; highlighting support for the NHS during this terrible time...
My crash in Julie's '67 Gasser Dart in 2009. 512ci Stroker and Tunnel Ram with Dana 60 and 4.56:1 gears.
The car was running 9.7 at the time of the crash but had yet to reach its full potential.
I see a few of our members have posted similar messages of support.

This car was pulling 138 mph in the Quarter at the time.
I seem to recall I took quite a bit of stick after the event!

Before it touched down as per the picture it had already performed a perfect aerial 360+ degree Barrel Roll clear of the ground - that was the bit that hurt (neck strain).
There are other pictures around of it going backwards on the top of the wall near the banking - it nearly cleared the wall and ended up on the grass.
People took great delight of my standing next to an up-turned car with the "Autoglym - the perfect finish" caption in the background....

I do love life's ironies.
Glad you were safe though.
