This guy is the owner of the New Zealand Mopar Forum,
He's built his challenger as a replica of the one in vanishing point.
He's even tracked down the nz owner of the correct number plate and had it reprinted on a colorado style plate.
And he calls himself Carlwalski!

I tell you something. This trip is bloody fantastic. What a ride.
Running out of time as suspected though. Been in Cisco where the crash at the end of the film was shot today. We also found the aproximate area where the girl rides her bike in the nude. Also the section of road where Kowalski races the nutter in the Jag.
Going to Goldfield to find super sould radio station tomorrow. The we have to hot foot back to denver. maybe via Las Vegas.
We went from sands storms in the desert to snow storms in the mountains today. What a country!

I just got back.
Bloody hell that was a good trip. Best £800 quid I ever spent (yes that is all that the trip cost me in total).
7 flights, 4 trains, and tousands of miles of driving. All in 10 days.
Man it was a blast. 8 of us set out. We lost one guy early on. On the way back we almost lost Wayne and would have if i hadn't asked where he was as we drove out of Glenwood Springs.
You guys will have to wait for video shots as Wayne is putting together a DVD of the trip. We will sort out a few teaser photos soon though.

Highlight was driving Eddie Nasser's six pack Chally at 120mph through the Nevada desert. No tall story that. You should have seen the grin on my face.Pete wrote:Glad you made it back safely Dave, can't wait to hear the tall stories

Other highlights were the look of Eddie's face when the engine stalled as i went down the VERY steep road in Austin and past the church (as in the film just before the cop car turns over on the bend) and because the engine stalled i had very little in the way of braking.

Bobs face was a picture too as I took of at high speed around Indy airport multi-story car park in his new Challenger.
