Bit of plate steel, 4 holes, 3 bolts into the damper and some imagination with the centre bolt or use the damper bolt to push.

Remember the Damper holes are not blind so do not screw in the bolts too far or you will damage the chain case (well, you could on a big block, not sure on SB)

Thanks Pete, i can see the drive chain from whee ive removed the fuel pump. Can guage it fromt here.

I've actually got a Edelbrock performer cam/followers sitting on the shelf, I may just fit those to get back on the road. Ho hum..

Thick wooden handle thru the flex plate its a chinch, the wood gives a lot but the flex plate stay ok

Not so out of date. Me and 'Mustang Mike' were discussing that option (rather than a big axe!) last evening.

Just make sure the wood doesn't break and end up behind the flex plate.... now thats a pig!
