I do not think that the "Plodge" has had nearly enough recognition within the club, given that it is a real "budget" car in the spirit of hot rod racing; and Roydon has next to no experience in either constructing or driving such a vehicle.
He has clearly done a cracking job on a car that could have been so easily scrapped (It still has a V5) due to its poor condition.
It was launching really hard on every run, both wheels up on every run (off the bottle or on it), was giving great crowd entertainment with massive burn-outs and a great "real V8" roar!
Ran a best 1.40 60ft time, and at 10.1 secs it knocked 6/10's off its ET since its last time out.
What more do you want?
Clearly not "sexy" enough....

bloody hell pete you sound like dave mcbride moaning about recognition,
horses for courses some cars look good and get attention others dont,

Gee, thanks for that Duncan.
I don't want the "recognition", I was pointing out how well Roydon had done.
Got up grumpy again, have we?

That Plodge race car is pigging ugly.
The hobby needs more "budget" race cars like this though to show that you don't have to spend £50K on a car to go fast.

440 block, "440 source" stroker to 512ci, "440 source" roller rockers, second hand stage VI Mopar heads, 2nd hand roller cam that is totally wrong (

) but would be great in the right set up (i.e. ported heads).
Roger Luty built the motor and made the best of mis-matched parts.

Did you manage to look for an 8920 adaptor, either that or can you speak to your friend about the tacho he said he had.
What's wrong with the cam is it too big or small, i have got one that needs regrinding, if you want it, very minor damage.
