Yes the Series 1 is the car for me especially the 4.2...they really are a great driving car.

This one will be modernised though big breaks, uprated suspenders, cooling, charging/electrics and 5speed gearbox. Suspenders will be trick adjustable.

Ally bonnet will be fabricated along with most other panels.

Oh and Latil. Whatever you do DON'T go buying a body from Martin Robey. I can confirm first hand that virtually nothing fits back on and holes in the wrong place etc. An absolute nightmare. Always use as much original panels and fixtures as poss. Most repro stuff is utter rubbish.

More pics of the V12 since there's not much to report on the S1

FANTASTIC!.................BIG RESPECT SON :notworthy:

I have owned over 20 E-Types, loved em all 8-) ....... My favorite was a concourse 66 series 1 4.2 in opalescent dark blue with grey leather, it was a Browns Lane development car with some unusual factory mod's..........must be worth a mint now  ............but ( unbelievably now, but not then ) I swapped it for an equally mint Ferrari 250 GTE.........wished I still had that one

Don't spose you fancy doin another in yer spare time Mr V :?

PS............is that Vicarage's i workshop ?

Cheers Budgie

The S1 4.2 is the one I reckon....VAlues of early cars are starting to go bonkers and they celebrate 50 yrs in 2011 so expect lots of hype.

Do you own that Silver V12?

I don't think I'd ever fancy doing another V12 and generally they don't pay to do so. As a kid the V12 was my fave but as I got older I have completely switched.

My Brothers Workshop......his business is Etypeuk.com I'm just squatting and I get to pick his brain otherwise I would be lost for sure.

Loving your work Lee!

I never realised the E Type was such an amazing piece of engineering under the Bonnet. It looks almost modern.
