Not everyone's kipper tie, but it's done a lot of miles with me and played some good places.

Fender contemporary Strat, Jap built in the good period, 27-4400 with Texas specials and Floyd Rose trem. 8-)

Has been plastered in stickers for years, but having helped my nephew buy his first guitar, I got the bug again and finally had a fit and decided it needed a clean up if I'm going to start playing again. :stummin:

Wotchoo been restoring, Dusty?

Do we need a "show us your axe" thread? :D

Ah, very similar (?)

I have a Fender Jap Built P-Bass (1986), bog standard in Tobacco Sunburst :thumbright: Just striiped it anf given it a really good clean as t really needed it

Also an 1981 Jaydee Roadie Bass, again totally bog standard in 'P' Yellow (Great Axe - awful colour!). And a fairly new Jazz Bass in Black that I use as my daily. I don't play all that well, but I really enjoy it :thumbright:

Yeah, go on do that - show us yours first

Cack picture of my Strat, minus stickers!

And my beloved Lag, just for the hell of it. :)

Being black, it doesn't show too well, but that guitar's been everywhere with me. 8-)

If only it could talk.

:D It might remember some stuff I know I never will.

I know for a fact I was at an aftershow party with Fish, Judie Tzuke and Then Jericho at the Shephards Bush Empire once, but I'm jiggered if I can tell you what happened, other than I'm told Fish took great exception to us and I remember he was a very big bloke you wouldn't want to mess with.

Oh well. Rock n Roll, eh?! :D

Very nice, Dusty. 8-)

I like that P Bass. Different and cool. I think I even like the colour!

I didn't mod my Strat, they are a bit of an odd story back then, but the pick up seems to be standard issue to a lucky few (you can tell the yank ones by the cloth winding) but the trem I think is custom, as it should have been a type 1. Hard to find much info out on them, though, as they were quite different.

Damn thing is covered in adhesive marks, though! I need some label remover.

You'll get it off - at least you didn't go all 'Van-Hallen' with it

:D I really wanted one like that when I was a kid.

You'd look a proper knobber playing it down the pub now though.

You'd get shot for smoking that tab now, too. Rock 'n' Roll just ain't what it used to be. :D

'Ang on, just re-read that. Is that orangey-thingey the Jaydee?

Not up on bass's, but that was what I thought you meant by the P Bass. I think I actually like that colour. Got any detail pics of it?

Maybe we should start a "show us your Axe" thread, but I think it might be just us two.

Yeah, the Tango'ed Gitarr is the JD. T'is the one I used when I went on tour with Level 42 in 84 8-)

The P Bass is to the right and used that during one of Iron Maiden's tours - Steve Harris weren't well so I stood in ;)

No Stu, I didn't  It is actually Yellow (I hate it :P ). However, although not particulary valuable, it is very rare as it is a passive model with single pick-up and was painted a custom colour. It's all date stamped and was no. 39 built in 1981. All JayDee's are hand made and usually built to order. I wouldn't mind another although their is a 2 year waiting list and used ones don't come up too often.

Having said that, I will probably go for a Musicman or something nextv :thumbright:

Very nice! How did you come by that, then?

It will be worth something one day, just for the rarity value, I reckon. 8-)

I want a new guitar now, but not high on my priority list. :(
