Lovely work Blue, is the front mount longer because of the extra arch of the spring (in other words shorter centres) or have I made a complete arse of myself?

SS springs are ONLY made in "A" body length, but in different weights to fit "B" bodies as well.

All super stock springs have a 20" front spring section, same as an A body. An E body has a 22" front spring section hence the longer mount, you have to change the mount to bolt super stock springs into anything other than an A body unless you want to go altered wheelbase
