bench seat and orginal shifter for bench seat not an issue
and you do not have to get a super sonic clutch
if you have sturdy legs a single plate with a high clamping force will do the job
and thats way cheaper
have a chat with NPC and see what they can do
all you need is a kit and not necessarily flywheel
you could get the flywheel over here and get it drilled and doweld for the clutch they send you
its basically 400AUD for the clutch and 400 AUD for the flywheel
and 200 AUD postage
works out about 600 quid
if you don't take the flywheel
works out about £300
which in turn is probably in line with a US brand clutch kit but without the customisation to your use

The Greater Knapweed near the Mugwort by the Buckthorn tree is dying
Ah, finally, the voices of reason have arrived
Not as daft as it sounds fellas, after all it is originally a manual car so it'll be easier to install than an auto AND it means i'll have 1 of the 8 points towards registering!
I've already had an offer of much assistance and some free bits from one of the fine members of this wonderful club.
I just need to look into the finance side of it more closely and i'm pretty optimistic about that now

No-one will believe you...
on the morning any purchase arrives you will trip over the original bits
if you already own the orginal clutch and flyhweel
have a chat with these chaps
http://www.autoandindustrial.co.uk
they can make your original clucth work really quite well and last longer than some of the aftermarket clutches
according to the lady i spoke to this morning
they will re line a clutch plate for £25 but can also completely dimantle the whole shooting match and make it how ya want it
metallic plate with extra clamping etc
also reline brake shoes and pads with any stuff you want which takes out the import and duty cost of new and gives you street to race style compounds on good OEM thickness and radius backings
radius the new shoes to your newly skimmed drums etc
i'll report back once they have done my clutch

Personally I prefer them over any other kind of shifter, not hard to use at all once you get used to it, although I prefer a ball instead of the T handle. Had them in 2 cars so far.PaulR wrote:Loving that vertical gate shifterBlue wrote:Gotta love a 4 speed, got mine sitting here just waiting for something to use it in. Might slide it into the Ratster when Jem's not looking..... How did you get on with it on the street?
Is that an 18 spline Blue ?, long tailshaft i presume.

Go on the site i linked you to and you will get all the info you need.
Behind 600 hp, you would be better with a Jericho and Tim Hyatt will supply the clutch and tell you how to adjust it.
A manual trans set up right will be quicker than an auto, that's why heads up classes in the states dont allow them.
Look at the SSAH class and Charlie Westcott Jnr is top of the pile with a man trans, to do it right, will be mucho dinero though.

Cheers for the info Mick- for now it's a case of 'get it done quick and cheap'.
I need it MOT'd and registered by the New Year in case the plans to close local DVLA office goes ahead!
I have a deal in the pipeline with Dunc so that'll get me sorted for now.
I can look into an uprated gearbox later
