Exactly, much better value for money. Unless you just get a kick out of letting the things off; but I grew out of that years ago

One crazy guy? He was so determined to carry out his sick plan that was so meticulousness planned out that getting his hands on an illegal weapon would have been simple. Look at all the shootings in the UK, the vast majority are from illegally sourced weapons. So all the ban on weapons has done is remove them from Law abiding citizen's.

sell the car and go out and buy a load of fireworks,,, really makes sense does that, the younger generation of thinking is beyond me i know this is not simon but the majority of em is have now let mum n dad or credit cards pay for it, really Bananarama! me off

fireworks are Bananarama! anyway i dont even bother lookin up at the Bananarama! things

Easy now Dunc, the lads been in debt and most likely every spare Penny he's owned has gone on repaying Credit Cards so its only fair he blows a couple hundred quid on something he wants to do. Me, Id be down the Boozer or taking the misses out for Dinner but if Si wants to have some fun with some Fireworks thats up to him. He's basically outta debt now anyway so whats the harm?

Tend to agree, but from the direction of a Bananarama! off pet owner!

Fed up of the little scrotes round here letting them of just as the light starts to fade!

Have no issue with responsible people letting them of after dark, but as usual its the select few (though the trend is growing) that spoil it for the rest.

Nice collection there Si.......How about being a modern day Mr Fawkes and going over to the EU Building and tell em to stop moaning about old cars etc etc!

Have fun!!

So why not push for a compromise? Maybe for sale to over 21's only. I still dont see why the majority of the UK should be banned from Fireworks because of the actions of a few to please a few whining old buggers. We are treated more and more like kids in the UK, we dont even need to be forced to give up our freedoms, we have the general public actually demanding it.

Completely agree and normally i wouldn't go anywhere near as mad as this BUT i have paid off most of my debt,i get paid twice this month [once from dougland then from my new company] also i have been giving the guy a little here and there, not all in one big bulk,i didn't buy all of them myself and the main reason is its almost a year since i lost Becky,so for me and the Swindon maoohsive its a bit of a commemorative thing, plus im a little kid when it comes to fireworks i dont really do christmas so this is my christmas i guess

triggs you miss my point, its this sort of extravagance that gets people back in debt,,,,,,,
its non of my business i know but when times are hard you just dont waste money, maybe you should live in a tin shed with old oily auto gearboxes as your companions then you will see what it takes to not get hocked up with debt, just my view

and si have fun matey, if thats your bag go for it..............

Si has been planning this for ages, me and the kids are going like last year

He's sorted stuff out and got a daft haircut so I reckon we can dig a few holes in the field and light em up with a fag end

Happy days :thumbright:

I grew up during the troubles in Norn Iron, we were;nt allowed fireworks or toy guns full stop, they were banned. I can;t see what all the fuss is about with fireworks, do we really need them?..and there are a lot better ways to have fun, and for longer, for the same money. Each to their own but a lot of common sense seems to go astray every year, especially where animals are concerned, both livestock, wildlife and domestic pets, particularly those abused with fireworks. I personally am fed up having to sit in the house with the TV on full blast, night after night, to try and cover the noise so our pets don;t hear it. To see an animal you care about suffer this much fear and distress is just heartbreaking.

There are plans to introduce quieter fireworks for private use to reduce the stress caused to wildlife, pets and livestock so the general public can enjoy their fireworks, but that doesn;t do anything for the 10;s of thousands of animals that will die or be seriously injured at the hands of sadists each year. How anyone can take pleasure from pushing fireworks inside a kitten and then setting it off by pouring petrol on the kitten and setting it on fire just beggars belief. Fireworks will end up being banned except for public display, there is no doubt about it as many large organisations are demanding it, as well as the emergency services that have to cope with the ;not so fun; side of it. It;s a pretty selfish and dangerous form of entertainment, and people in thatched cottages must be genuinely concerned each Guy Fawkes night too.
