I heard about this last week but I cant find anything on the web about it
but I think it explains why Sinton tyres are no more? I'm after tyres for my Ram and have found these over here, so there may be some hope as they have cooper MT's and BFG's http://www.4x4tyres.co.uk/tyres-c-10.html

Well I've spoken to Ron and he's happy to give it a go for us, if BFG are all above board as we've been told.
To give an idea, the set I was looking at are about $940 from Summit (plus shipping etc) and about the same in ££ from North Hants Tyres.
So even at today's poor £/$ rate, that leaves plenty for shipping/tax etc to still make a decent saving

The european union is on a precipice, no amount of money pumped into the likes of Greece is going to change anything. They've had too many handouts in the past, the public sector is bloated, they've all enjoyed high wages, good pensions and plenty of fringe benefits and they're not accept to accept the stringent austerity measures.
Once they fall, then portugal will be next and then the whole european experiment will collapse, it's not a matter of if, it's a matter of when.
As you were.

Gotta agree with that, Greece is a nightmare and a big drain to all, they can't even come out if they wanted to...too many brown envelopes flying about everywhere.......the EU is just one big beaurocratic rip off, and those involved wondering what type of stupid law to bring in next to justify there ridiculous wages are getting very rich.Mick wrote:The european union is on a precipice, no amount of money pumped into the likes of Greece is going to change anything. Just fot your info. when I heard this law was coming in I bought 2 x MT ET street radials from summitt at the end of January this year but asked the manufacture date be 2011. Mate of mine who is a pilot brought them in for me in hand luggage (perks of job) in March and customs didn't want a sniff. I do wonder how heavily this law is enforced. Like wise in this country there is a law regarding the importer of the kind of stuff I sell - commercial catering equipment being responsible for its disposal at the end of its commercial life in the three years or so its been in force I've had 1 call from Enviromental health just asing what we do with the old stuff. Truth is we usually never see it but what we do see we strip out for copper/ stainless and dispose at the scrappers. Maybe they will get tougher in a few years time when it all needs replacing but who knows.
