Ivor there was blackbird drone there that was supposed to be launched from a blackbird then late in life from a b52 but did not work properly

Alot of the F4's there were destined to become target practise drones, they paint the tails orange (just the pilots know they are drones) convert them here, then shoot them done over the desert.
Wouldn't want a free ride in an F4 around here just in case

I love this post Andy, spent some time at the Planes of Fame/Fighter Rebuilders Museum at Chino just before christmas this year, but didn't think any one on here would want to see the pics. I am into racers and Warbirds so the place was like heaven to me

The superfortress started life as B50 so you are correct but then modded to be a KB-50J tanker with the J standing for the fact is got 2 J47 turbo jets slung under, one last measure to try & give the old prop plane some more performance, never heard of it till I saw this one
