And in 2008 I still only had just over half my brain working. In fact if it wasn't for the photos I wouldn't recall ever having done it.

It looks different because for fitment to a power steering column you get a sleeve and shaft to extend the column. You only need this extra part if you have the power steering column and manual steering combo.

No it not rocket science....
But from questions ask you can see its of interest, especially ordering a part thats gonna be wrong

flaming river do a multitude of fittings for the cars, there is shaft to spline, DD to spline, manual to manual, power to manual with shaft without etc and there instruction on the web site aren't the clearest to get your head around.
So i can See what Ade is talking about i had to read through a few time to work out what i needed, especially as i had already modded mine once, BUT then didnt need the shaft kit :roll:

Its better if someone has already worked it out for you....I asked Dave for a picture of his fitting so i could see it for myself.....

yours is the DD to spline, yes it very different power to manual the coupler is the same, its the shaft you may need.....is yours power or manual. OR power to manual ??

Mine is power to manual, but because i had already lengthened the shaft i didnt need the extension shaft, but was unsure so i had it covered

Dave i think is the same but on a standard shaft Dave has had to use the extension but only a little bit of it as its about 10 inches long.
Thats the fat shiny collar above the coupler on Daves.

Extension goes over the factory shaft, the extension has the DD shaft to slide the coupler on to...and cut to length.

Yeah I cut most of the extension shaft off and kept it because it is a handy bit of quality steel to make a tool from at some point. :thumbright:

Same i have the whole shaft which i will use to fit the manual steering on the 63 as thats going to be some way away from its usual place :lol:

This is why this forum is so good alot of good discussion,

I have a power steering car ,so it looks like I have the correct part but dont have time at the moment to install it 8-) at the moment :D

I got the correct part number from the Flaming River website and then did a search for it on the Summit website.

Here's the shaft extension...its about 10inches although i have not measured it
So there is plenty there nearly enough for a A/FX car ;)

Adrian are you running Power steering? if so cross check the p[art number on the pic I posted and make sure they may have change the part#

Yeah I see the number okay Drew, I looked up the FR website and the part number is still current, its a power steering car :thumbright:
But they also list a dedicated power steering kit on another page that looks a little different but is about twice the price :?
